This work explores the "fiddle key" of G mixolydian using the 17th century Baroque style form of the prelude with idiomatic bluegrass flavors. In similar fashion to the 17th century form, I use the terms "adagio" and "allegro" for different sections. The adagio sections are meant to be free and rubato while the allegro sections cascade out of the previous adagio section and roll right into the next adagio section. The approximate tempo proportion is that the quarter note in the adagio sections is equal to the half note beat of the allegro sections. The performer should not be confined to an exact proportion of tempi at every moment from section to section, and should feel free to add scoops or other fiddle inflections. 4 pages total including cover and title pages.
